After the last post a lot of people brought to my attention the great confusion between the different searches that may be referred to as "google mobile".
so:
-
http://www.google.com/m?mrestrict=xhtml&eosr=on&ct=fsh&q=gay is a google serp for "gay" showing all web results in mobile friendly format. It's actually a mix showing some news results, blog results and web results. clicking a result gives you the destination url passed through google's engine that converts it to a mobile friendly format (xhtml Mobile Profile.) Even if it's already in this format which is aomewhat strange imo and definitely hurts the site owners, especially as this search seems to be the default on google mobile (http://www.google.com/m)

http://www.google.com/m?eosr=on&q=gay&site=mobile&sa=X&oi=blended&ct=more-results gives you only results of websites that are already xhtml Mobile Profile compatible.
